GUWAHATI: Projects worth Rs 13,500 crore for the North East sector have been sanctioned by the Railways in this year's budget, Rajen Gohain, Union Minister of State for Railways has said today.
The Railway ministry has unveiled big plans for the North East. New projects have been lined up amounting to about Rs 13,500 crore. The sum has been sanctioned in this year's budget to add several new projects that include new lines, bridges and an elevated rail track from Kamakhya to New Guwahati at a cost of Rs 3,062 crore, the minister said, on the second day of the infrastructure development conference ConMac here.
